Barbara Fenton is the mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, and co-worker who listens and gives advice without judging. With her long golden locks, brown almond eyes, and her round face showing her African, Caribbean, and Native American ancestry you know she is a serious, but loving woman. Her words are punctuated with her love for God and all people. Those who know her have heard her "been-there, done-that" stories. She is a grass roots healer and a survivor of domestic violence. She loves to travel, to read, and to share information that will help others achieve their goals. Barbara has the ability to teach, mentor, empower, and lead others towards a path of self-love and self-healing regardless of where they are, where they have been or where they are starting from. She does this with love and without judgment, because we all have our challenges - including her.
Barbara Fenton became interested in holistic health in 1994 when she was producing her public access cable show"Tell Me Something Good" which aired monthly on Manhattan Neighborhood Network and then weekly on BCAT in Brooklyn until 2001. While the show focused on women of color in business many of her guests were holistic healers and the information they began to share with her and her viewers started her on her healing path. She began to take classes and has continued to study with many well known healers around the country. She began applying grassroots healing techniques on herself and sharing information with friends and family. In the beginning she focused on Aromatherapy and Herbs studing Green Medicine at the Open Center in NYC. Then after she took a group of women to a pampering party which included Massage, Reflexology, and Reiki she began reading up on the healing art of Reiki and decided to take Reiki classes. She has studied and received certification in Reiki from several Reiki Masters in New York City and Long Island which has included Reiki 1 & 2, advanced Reiki 3, and Reiki Master classes to become a Certified Reiki Master/Teacher. Barbara is a professional member of The International Center for Reiki Training Reiki Membership Association. Her lineage is available upon request. During her training Barbara was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and on top of that she had 2 very bad falls that left her in a lot of pain which got so bad she had to use a cane to walk and Access-a-Ride to get to work. Barbara started applying self healing Reiki techniques on herself, started doing meditation, and going to Reiki Healing circles. Using Reiki as well as Aromatherapy and Herbs has helped keep her pain under control without the use of over the counter or prescription pain medications. She does private sessions in Reiki, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, and Green medicine, in New York City and Pennsylvania. She offers certified Reiki and Aromatherapy classes that are of high standards and uses approved techniques, additional practice sessions, and manuals. She also encourages students to become successful Reiki teachers if they are so guided or to use Reiki and Aromatherapy for their own personal use and for friends and family.
In addition to the above Barbara Fenton is a member of The International Institute of Reflexology, a student at The East/West School of Herbology, a Life Coach, Travel Specialist, Facilitator, Consultant, and an Ordained Interfaith Minister.
